Angela Stanford

Angela Stanford was born in Barbados in 1951.

During her education at St. Leonard’s Secondary she attended art lessons with painter and sculptor Karl Broodhagen who taught her mainly how to sketch.

In 1971 she attempted to paint, which led her to paint continuously joining the Barbados Arts Council exhibiting at Pelican Art Gallery during group shows.

She continued until 1977 opening her Art Gallery at her home in St. James.

She stopped painting until 1994 when she again did a few pieces, then in 2002 she decided to rejoin the Barbados Arts Council at Pelican Village and once again fell in love with painting all over again.
